Abstract:
Rice is the widely cultivated cereal crop in the world. But low water use efficiency of rice (
Oryza sativa L.) led rice cultivation more water expensive. Due to the climate change, drought and high temperature are the major environmental stress experienced by the plants. In this situation to sustain the yield of rice under limited water consumption is the major concern. Therefore physiological, biotechnological and agronomical approaches are adopted to improve water use efficiency (WUE) of rice. This review focused more about physiological and biotechnological approach to improve water use efficiency of rice.
