Abstract:
The investigation was carried out to assess the nitrogen and potassium levels for growth, flowering and yield attributes of African marigold at Horticulture Section, College of Agriculture, Nagpur, during
kharif- 2018. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design with sixteen treatment combinations which was replicated thrice. The treatments comprised two factors main -Nitrogen, 0, 80, 100 and 120 kg ha
-1 and Potassium, 0, 20, 25 and 30 kg ha
-1. The results revealed that growth parameters viz. plant height, number of branches plant
-1 and yield parameters- number of flowers plant
-1, yield of flowers plant
-1 and ha
-1 were significantly maximum. While minimum days were observed in flowering parameters such as, days to first flower bud initiation, days to opening of first flower, days to 50% flowering and days to first harvest in highest level of nitrogen (120 kg N ha
-1) and potassium (30 kg K ha
-1). However, interaction effect of nitrogen and potassium levels was found non-significant effect in case of growth and flowering parameters, while significant in yield parameters.
