Abstract:
Present field experiment was conducted during kharif seasons of 2013-14 and 2014-15 at Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya, Chitrakoot to study the different modes of zinc application on performance of pigeonpea (cv. ICPL-87119). The experiment was laid out in randomized block design (RBD) with fifteen treatments in three replications. The treatments involved the combinations of two levels each of soil zinc, farm yard manure and foliar zinc. The response of pigeonpea in terms of growth and yield attributes and properties of soil at harvest of crop were studied. The results revealed that, the combined application of soil zinc, FYM and/or foliar zinc significantly influenced the plant height, number of pods plant-1, number of seeds pod-1, yield, total biomass and test weight of pigeonpea. The soil available nutrients were found significantly higher under the treatments involving the application of FYM.
