Abstract:
The present investigation, genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance in tomato was undertaken in randomized Block design with three replications on twenty genotypes at the Nana Ji Deshmukh Krishi Farm the objective of the study was to evaluate genetic variability and heritability of traits among tomato accession based on quantitative traits. Thirty tomato acessession were planted in 2014-15 in randomized block design with three replications. Data on 15 quantitative traits were collected and subjected to various statistical analyses. As the study revealed, the estimates of phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variation showed the presence of variability among the accessions for majority of the characters. High heritability coupled with high expected genetic advance in per cent of mean was observed for fruit yield per plant, fruit weight per plant, plant height and days to maturity.
